AKUT's mission is to help with the social inclusion of different types of socially disadvantaged groups, mainly by developing their self-care capabilities. In order to fulfill our aims, we develop educational materials and organise educational programmes that help our target groups to take an active role in solving their own problems.
We have two major ongoing projects: a community development program in Budapest and an international project aiming at identifying good intergenerational practices. By studying and helping with the introduction of complex social and emotional learning programs to schools, we would further contribute to our strategic goal of teaching our target groups methods to develop their self-care capabilities.
AKUT has contacts with the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy of Semmelweis University and the Departments of Psychology at University of Szeged and at Eszterházy Károly College in Eger. We also collaborate with trainers offering vocational education for psychologists, psychiatrists and other medical staff. With the help of our institutional network we would be able to develop a SEL program in Hungary.
Role in the partnership: AKUT will be the coordinator of the project and as such will ensure the smooth implementation of the project activities. As part of this role, AKUT will be responsible for the preparation of the midterm and final report.
