Creative Youth enables young people to realize their potential through the arts. It organizes the highly-acclaimed annual International Youth Arts Festival which is created and produced by young people. The event gives young people opportunities to work as performers, event managers, producers and innovators, and provides them with support in developing successful arts careers. The work of the festival is taken forward through the year-round Creative Talent Programme. This programme identifies young and emerging artists and organizations who have the potential to become excellent creative practitioners and gives them artistic, business and strategic support. Creative Youth works with its sponsors and partners to ensure that such young companies are equipped with key business skills allowing them to turn their visions into commercial ventures.
In the present day economic climate, youth unemployment in the UK has risen to 20.3% and cuts to the arts are having a negative impact on job opportunities for young people, Creative Youth’s model is designed to develop a generation of self-sufficient individuals with the emotional and social resilence to control their own futures and address the challenges of realiseing their potential. The organisation is based in London and works throughout the UK and draws international participation through its annual Festival.
